We have variety of materials available, ranging from exotic timbers and veneers to super durable modern laminates.
Solid Timbers
We pride ourselves as specialists with exotic timbers. Your furniture piece can be finished in one of the sustainably grown hardwoods sourced from a wide variety of Australian and international species. Timber naturally varies in colour and grain structure, which brings a unique tone, texture and feel to each and every piece we make.
Timber Veneers
Timber Veneers have all the charm, colour variation and beauty of a Solid Timber, while maintaining its stability as the temperature and humidity varies throughout the year. Veneers are inherently more stable and are commonly used in backing boards, some vertical panels and doors.
In some instances, it is common to include a veneer of the same timber species into a project. Speak to one of our designers about your specific requirements and we can find a balance between your needs, structural stability or budget.

Timber Stains
Need to further enhance the natural beauty of your hardwood? CM Furniture Design offers a wide variety of stain options to help your furniture tie in with your existing decor. Select from one of our standard finishes, or have a custom stain professionally made to match your existing furniture.
Most hardwoods take a stain well, however we recommend using Tasmanian Oak/ Victorian Ash, as sometimes the colour of the piece is more important than the species of timber. This way you’ll save money and still get the perfect look you’re after.
Every care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the colours in images below. However, due to differences in monitors and lighting situations, the colours may vary from those shown here. We recommend basing your decision on colours directly from the physical samples provided during the consultation. We can also colour match a stain of your choice if required.
Laminates
Take advantage of the super hard wearing performance of our commercially graded laminates by Laminex and Polytec. Available in a variety of thicknesses from 18mm, 25mm and 33mm. All the colours are supplied with shock proof edging providing resilience to knocks, scratches and wear.
All designs supplied from the laminate ranges are supported with a 20 year guarantee in the home and a 7 year guarantee in commercial offices.
Please note the colours shown on our website are our standard stocked options. Any Laminex or Polytec colour not shown can be ordered as a special order, however, will be subject to extended lead times and additional costs.
